The Edmonton Oilers have reportedly agreed to trade Center Ryan McLeod to Buffalo Sabres

According to Sportsnet Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman, Edmonton trades McLeod, along with prospect Tyler Tullio to Buffalo for top Sabres prospect Matthew Savoie.

Savoie's older brother, Carter, was a fourth round pick of the Oilers back in 2020, but was recently not qualified by the team, making him a free agent.

McLeod, 24, has spent his four year NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers. In 81 games with Edmonton in the 2023-24 season, McLeod had 12 goals, 18 assists & 30 points. McLeod was a second round pick of the Oilers in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, 40th overall. His older brother, Michael, is a six year NHL veteran and first round NHL draft pick, formerly with the New Jersey Devils.

Tullio, 22, had 9 goals and 21 points in 54 games with Edmonton's AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. Tullio was drafted by Edmonton in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, 126nd overall.

Savoie was drafted ninth overall by the Sabres in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Savoie made a one-game appearance this season for Buffalo after recording 30 goals and 71 points in just 34 games in the WHL.
