Austin Kelly
Austin Kelly has been a writer with Hockey Patrol since 2022. Born and raised in Toronto, Austin has been involved in Hockey Patrol's coverage of the Toronto Maple Leafs providing both news and analysis alike.
Also a prospect writer and scout, Austin has also provided in-depth analysis around the Leafs prospect pool and the minor league system for Hockey Patrol, having written on Toronto's future talents and providing insight on the team's system.
Having grown up a Leafs fan and prospect watcher, Austin had expertise of Toronto's stars of today before they made it to the show, and in some cases before they made it on to draft radars (fun fact; he was only one of a small few who actually ranked Easton Cowan as a top-64 pick). That doesn't keep Austin from also having knowledge of the Leafs roster and it's history, raised with a collection of hockey books of the game's past.
A journalism major at Centennial College in Toronto, Austin is a trained journalist proficient in CP style and writing structure, having worked as both a sports journalist as well as a news reporter while still in school. Austin's favorite type of story, anything that involves interesting people.
Austin can be found either watching the Leafs play, or analyzing the game of a 6'8 defenseman that could be a seventh round pick.
