Newest Maple Leaf Chris Tanev getting involved with the community already
Chris Tanev hails from Ontario, and just days after signing with the home town Maple Leafs, he's already making a big impact on the team, community and fans.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a special connection to the people of Ontario and especially Toronto, so when a new player arrives, they will always look to win over the media and the fans.
Given the way he plays with 100% all the time on the ice, Chris Tanev was likely to do that, but now, he's sped up the process, as he has already ingratiated himself in the community, taking part in Leafs Hockey School Skate, signing autographs and getting to know the fans in attendance.
During his time in Calgary, Tanev was a staple of the community and became beloved by the entire fanbase, and given how desperate Toronto have been for a player exactly like him, this makes the pickup even better for the Maple Leafs.
It's certainly a good move for Tanev too, as he now gets to play for the team he grew up cheering for, and as time goes on, the fans are guaranteed to fall more and more in love with him.
