OFFICIAL: The Hurricanes have traded defenseman Dylan Coghlan to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for future considerations.

Coghlan played only 1 game with the Hurricanes last season, as he spent the majority of the year with their AHL affiliate team, the Springfield Thunderbirds, where he picked up 16 goals and 25 assists in 61 games.

Not that @FriedgeHNIC needs my confirmation, but I can confirm Carolina is trading RFA RHD Dylan Coghlan to Winnipeg.

Hearing the return is a conditional 7th round draft pick going back to Carolina.

Coghlan is an RFA and is known to have a hard shot. Things didn't seem to work out so much for him in Carolina, where he only played that 1 game. The Jets are hoping his big shot from the blue line can help boost their powerplay.

Believe Winnipeg will be acquiring D Dylan Coghlan from Carolina, too
