All eyes are on the Winnipeg Jets this summer as the team is getting set to change drastically over the next couple of seasons.
Arguably the biggest name to watch is goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, as many teams would love to have the services of a star goaltender. One Insider says Hellebuyck has a team in mind that he would immediately sign an extension with if traded there.
Emerging Powerhouse
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Hellebuyck is keen on a trade to the New Jersey Devils. If traded there, the 29-year-old would be more than willing to sign a long-term extension for the right price.

The Asking Price
While I'm certain the Devils would love to add a netminder of Hellebuyck's talent, the asking price could be a stumbling block. Reports say Hellebuyck wants around $9.5 million per season, making him one of the highest paid goaltenders in the NHL. That said, despite making some recent signing, the Devils currently have close to $26.5 million in cap space for 2023-24, although more signings need to be made. Accommodating Hellebuyck is doable, but may leave little money for other parts of the roster.
