Ever since the brutal finish to game seven for the Maple Leafs, the rumour mill has been in overdrive, with speculation surrounding Mitch Marner being even more intense. Recently, a report then emerged that Marner had submitted a list to the Maple Leafs of nine teams that he would be willing to waive his no-movement clause for.
However, that doesn't appear to be the case, as Maple Leafs reporter Nick Alberga has now clarified the situation surrounding No. 16.
This isn't to say that Marner won't waive his NMC for some potential teams, and it's not to say that the Maple Leafs won't approach him about doing so in the near future, but as of right now, nothing has happened.
Given that Marner has one year left on his massive deal though, it's more likely than not that the team will look to trade him in the coming months, so while this story reportedly isn't true, keep an eye on a Mitch Marner trade, as it could happen at anytime this off-season.
