The Toronto Maple Leafs reportedly aren't looking to part with any of their young talent or their first-round pick in 2024, but with a major need on the blue line, intriguing trade proposals like this one may tempt them to do just that.

Interesting Trade Proposal sends Nick Robertson West to the San Jose Sharks

While most fans have their eyes on the likes of Chris Tanev or Noah Hanifin, this intriguing trade proposal instead has them looking towards the future on the blue line.

Toronto receives: F Luke Kunin, D Mario Ferraro.

San Jose Receives: F Nick Robertson, 2024 first and third round draft picks.

On the surface, this is an interesting deal for a 25-year old with plenty of upside, but if the Leafs are looking to move two picks and Nick Robertson, including their 2024 first rounder, they'd likely target Hanifin or Tanev instead.

What will the Maple Leafs do at the trade deadline?

With their offense thriving during this seven-game winning streak, the Maple Leafs season is once again looking promising, and in his first season as General Manager, it would come as no shock if Brad Treliving looked to go all in for a Stanley Cup this season.

As for the addition of Ferraro at the expense of two top picks and Robertson, it's a deal that doesn't make too much sense for Toronto, as he is 25-years old and has never tallied more than 17 points in a season, and if their eyes are on the top prize, they need to be chasing much bigger names than this.
