Joseph Woll Begins His Long-Awaited Return to Action

Joseph Woll is returning to the ice after his extended absence with his first game action now coming.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Joseph Woll will be starting his return with an appearance in the American Hockey League with the Toronto Marlies.
Woll will suit up in net for the Marlies tonight against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, making a start in net for the team.
Known previously that he would be on an AHL conditioning stint, Woll will take his first step to re-joining Toronto.
In the meantime, Dennis Hildeby was recalled to the Leafs to back up Anthony Stolarz tonight against Boston.
Cayden Primeau was placed on waivers and was claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes with Woll nearing coming back to the Leafs roster.
Joseph Woll Getting Closer To Leafs Return
It's not known when Joseph Woll will be back in Toronto's lineup, but he could be ready to go as soon as Tuesday's game against Boston, or back home Thursday vs Los Angeles.
Woll sidestepped when asked about his absence, choosing to keep private about him being away, known only to be for personal reasons, but thanked the Leafs for keeping his situation out of the spotlight.
The 27-year-old Woll appeared in 42 games last season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, with a 27-14-1 record and a 2.73GAA and a .909SV%.
Stolarz has appeared in 11 games this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, with Primeau playing in three games.
In what could be his first game back for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the coming days, it would be a benefit for Leafs fans who both have wanted to see Woll return, for his talent and to be able to feel comfortable returning to the ice.
