Former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Cayden Primeau has found a new home after being placed on waivers.

Goaltender Cayden Primeau, who was placed on waivers by Toronto, was claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes, according to Chris Johnston of TSN.
Primeau, 26, was claimed off waivers by the Leafs earlier in the season from Carolina after Toronto released James Reimer from a PTO deal.
With Joseph Woll's return to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup after being out for personal reasons, Primeau was placed on waivers to prepare.
With Woll to start in the minors on a conditioning stint, Dennis Hildeby will for the time be the Leafs backup, starting tonight vs the Boston Bruins.
With Primeau on waivers, the Leafs have confirmed om social media that Hildeby will be recalled for the game against Boston.
In three games this season for Toronto, Primeau had a 2-1-0 record, but with a 4.30GAA and a .838SV%.

Cayden Primeau Departure Opens Up Joseph Woll's Return

With Cayden Primeau back in Caeplina, the door is now open to have Joseph Woll back in the Leafs net.
Cayden Primeau had struggled in net as the Leafs backup, being in a support role for Stolarz but limited to just three appearances, with Stolarz having a heavier workload regardless.
When Woll returns, which could be soon depending on his comfort level on his AHL test, it could see him in the coming days return for the Leafs.
Woll spoke to reporters yesterday, but didn't give any specific details on his timeline back.
The move will be the one big area of need the Toronto Maple Leafs to get normalization in. With Primeau a clear stopgap, they're ready to once again have balance in net between Stolarz and Woll.
Hildeby will potentially get his first look with the Leafs, having been a dark horse for a spot after a strong preseason, but Toronto ultimately going with a veteran in Reimer, and later Primeau, over the rookie netminder.
In what will be preparation for coming back to the fold, Joseph Woll is nearing a return, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are finally getting the roster they wanted.
