What the Maple Leafs revealed about Jake McCabe after he left the game
The Toronto Maple Leafs reported Jake McCabe left with an upper-body injury, although didn't specify the exact nature of his injury.
McCabe appeared to be hit by a puck near the mouth, potentially hitting him in the jaw or nose area, both of which could require stitches.
Dr. Harjas Grewal, a physican who analyzes NHL player injuries, speculated the potential of a facial bone fracture, and that a concussion is also something the Leafs would have to evaluate for.
Toronto is already dealing with a thinned defensive group with Chris Tanev and Brandon Carlo already out for the Leafs blue line.
Along with the losses on defense, Toronto is also without Auston Matthews, Matthew Knies, & Anthony Stolarz also out of the lineup.
Toronto won't play after Saturday's game until four days later on Wednesday against St. Louis, giving the Leafs some rest, and what the team will be hoping are some much needed healing for some of their injured rosrered players.
