Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed who'll be their starting goalie for the evening.

As reported by Jonas Siegel of The Athletic, the veteran goalie Martin Jones will be the one to start the game between the pipes tonight.

Lately, Jones has impressed many people. In 9 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, he has an impressive 6-3-0 record, along with a 2.20 GAA and a .930 SV%.

With Ilya Samsonov with the Marlies in the AHL, Joseph Woll injured, and Dennis Hildeby promoted to the NHL, many were wondering what would come next for the Leafs' goalies.

Some believed that Hildeby would get his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks tonight, considering Jones has played most of the Leafs' recent games. However, the Leafs are playing the Sharks in back-to-back games as they will also face off against each other on Tuesday. Then, Hildeby could get his shot.

This could also mean that Jones will play all games until Woll or Samsonov returns. Sheldon Keefe obviously believes in him, and if he believes he's the best player available to guard the Leafs' net, he should play many more games this season.

Notably, Jones also played six seasons in San Jose, between 2015 and 2021.
