Kyle Dubas made one of the best moves of the trade deadline by acquiring Ryan O'Reilly from the St. Louis Blues. Not only is he a good player, but he's an exceptional leader.

With Giordano, Tavares, and O'Reilly, it's safe to say that the Leafs don't have a shortage of leadership. All have been captains in the NHL for many seasons, and their input will probably be really useful when the playoffs start.

Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner know just how lucky they are to have this many quality leaders on the team. They did something special to recognize Ryan O'Reilly's leadership.

Matthews and Marner Made a Nice Gesture Towards O'Reilly

During the last game of the season, both Marner and Matthews were sidelined, leaving the Leafs without an assistant-captain for the game.

It's been reported that they offered the role to O'Reilly!

His response is definitely that of a real leader.

Keefe said the #Leafs were going to have O'Reilly wear an A for a game, presumably in Tampa when 16 and 34 sat out. "He didn't want it - 'I don't need that, give it to someone else.' That's the type of guy that he is. Very selfless." Kerfoot wore an A that night.

What a selfless move! A real leader doesn't need the letter on the jacket to have a positive impact on the team.

He showed again that he's a great guy, and his actions prove it.

As seen on Maple Leafs Insider - O'Reilly recently turned down a special offer from the Leafs, but for a selfless reason
