After a solid two game set in Vancouver, the Oilers have dropped two of their past three games, and now face a must-win game six at home to force a winner-take-all game seven against the Canucks. This team has a multitude of issues that they'll need to overcome to make that happen, but now, it's been revealed that both Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid have injury issues to deal with.
However, this can't be used as an excuse, as the Canucks are down their No. 1 goalie in Thatcher Demko and are still finding ways to win, but it may explain McDavid's major lack of production in his past three games.
This is directly evident in his lack of goal scoring opportunities in five games against Vancouver, but if he's ever to lead this team to a Stanley Cup, he needs to overcome these issues, and it starts in a must-win game six.
