The last time Luke Schenn suited up for the Toronto Maple Leafs was in the 2011-12 season. Since then, the blue liner has appeared in games for 9 different teams, earning back-to-back Stanley Cup rings with the Tampa Bay Lighting. Schenn's NHL career has been one filled with highs and lows, but now he's back to the place where it all started, hoping for a different outcome this time around.

Schenn Excited to be Back

11 years after departing from the Leafs roster, Schenn has rejoined the team just in time to gear up for the upcoming playoffs. With nine defenseman fighting for spots on Toronto's blueline, Schenn's role isn't guaranteed on this team. One thing's for certain, the veteran isn't taking this second chance for granted.

Schenn took a brief absence from the Leafs roster to attend the birth of his daughter, but has since returned and is practicing with the team. By re-acquiring Schenn, Toronto has added some much needed playoff experience to their roster, as well as grit and strength on the back end to balance out the acquisition of new teammate Erik Gustafsson.

Schenn has even been lucky enough to run into some old friends along the way, such as former teammate Nik Antropov, who now works for the Maple Leafs as a skills coach. It's safe to say Schenn has (re)discovered his home in Toronto, and couldn't be happier to be a part of this team.
