Matthew Knies reveals why he went after David Pastrnak in game five
The Toronto Maple Leafs saved off elimination in game five, and did so behind Matthew Knies, who scored the game winner and played very physical.
It wasn't only the overtime goal from Matthew Knies that helped them pick up a crucial win on the road, but it was his physical play that impressed too. Knies teammates were raving about his strength after the game, and now he's revealed why he went after Bruins star David Pastrnak;Knies on this interaction with Pastrnak in Game 5: "He's going after our best defenceman & just don't like to see that. I don't want Mo to get into interactions like that. I need him to focus on the game and helping us win"
Edmundson: "We rally behind stuff like that."

Unsurprisingly, the young standout is looking for more ways to contribute than just on the scoresheet, and while two goals this series have been great, it's his physical impact that helps the team too.
If the Leafs want to win this series, it needs to be all hands on deck in every phase, so while the Bruins will continue focusing on Ryan Reaves and others as the physical threats, but with Knies, the team have a player capable of doing it all, much needed for their potential success.
