The Florida Panthers sent a very unexpected item to the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of their recent Stanley Cup winning exhibit, with this item being a bit of an oddity.

Many core players of the Panthers cup team sent items from their win to the hall, a common tradition for teams after winning, with a stick, gloves & a jersey among the conventional items from this past Florida team on display in the HHOF in Toronto.

One unusual item is the most notable, a used mouthguard worn by Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk.

Likely the mouthguard was used this past season by Tkachuk. It's traditional to give items to the hall, but a mouthguard would be an unusual addition, unclear if it was collected by the hall, or gifted by Tkachuk himself or somebody else on the Panthers.

Tkachuk, 26, was a leader for the Florida Panthers in the playoffs, with 6 goals and a team leading 16 assists for 22 points, tied for first along with Aleksandr Barkov. In the regular season, Tkachuk had 26 goals, 62 assists & 88 points in 80 points for Florida.
