When asked if he was concerned about losing Calder Trophy winner Kirill Kaprizov to CSKA Moscow if the two parties cannot agree on a long-term contract, Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin responded no.

"It's not my call. I'm not bothered by it " he said

In his debut season, Kaprizov tallied 27 goals and 51 points.

The contract negotiations themselves look to be going well.

"I think we're doing okay," Guerin said Russo. "We have plenty of time, so don't panic. I'm in touch with Kirill's agent. We keep going."

Earlier in the post, Guerin indicated that he believes it's important for a player to make it to training camp. Keep in mind this when the deadline for a deal with Kaprizov approaches.

"I know this from experience. Training camp isn't always the most fun, "Guerin added, relieved Fiala will be present when it starts. "But it's vital, and missing it puts you in a bind. And catching up is difficult."

In Guerin's ideal world, Kaprizov would have signed before next month's camp.
CapFriendly projects the Wild's cap space at $13.11 million. Guerin, according to Russo, will not bring unsigned free agents to camp until he is certain they will make the squad.

The Wild reportedly made Kaprizov seven-to-eight-year offers for $9 million.
