Brendan Gallagher, the Canadiens' forward, said during a news conference earlier today that he received an unusual call in the recent few hours.

He was offered to represent Canada at the World Hockey Championships, but declined (by phone) in order to protect his health and allow his body to recover.
He acknowledged that his medical bills could be substantial.
Despite scoring just seven goals this season, Gallagher was invited to play for Team Canada, which speaks something about the player and the views of professional officials.
