Alexander Ovechkin wants to play in Russia

Despite being 41 years old when his current contract with the Washington Capitals expires in 2026, Alexander Ovechkin is open to returning home to finish his career.
"Is the contract linked to my retirement from Washington? We'll talk in five years "The Russian media outlet TASS reported Ovehckin's comments. TASS.ru.
"There is a desire to return to Dynamo," he added.
Alexei Ovechkin played for Dynamo Moscow from 2001 to 2005 and again in 2013. He has repeatedly stated his desire to retire with the club. Even at 41, he'll be warmly welcomed if he says he wants to play.
With 730 goals, Ovechkin is currently sixth all-time in the NHL. To pass Wayne Gretzky, he needs 894 points.
