The Winnipeg Jets are currently visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins for the first game back since the infamous NHL All Star break. In the beginning of the second period, Jets defenseman gave Noel Acciari a devastating hit, which is definitely illegal, causing him to receive a match penalty.
Brenden Dillon let all hell break loose when he gave Noel Accari a devasting hit to the head. A hit we've seen far too often in today's game, and needs to be reprehanded, and further discipline needs to happen to stop these threathening hits causing players to be injured. Acciari, the player who was on the other end of the hit, was announced he will not return to tonight's game.
The Penguins currently lead 3-0 after two periods, goalscorers are Jeff Carter, Bryan Rust and Kristopher Letang.
Dillon has a track record of suspensions
The Jets defenseman has already been suspended by the NHL Player Safety Association before. Back on December 5th, 2017, Dillon was suspended one game for brutally slashing Capitals defenceman Madison Bowey. At the time, the Jets dman was a member of the Dallas Stars.
We have reason to believe based on previous suspensions this season and the fact Dillon isn't a first time offender that he will get more than one game for this hit on the Penguins forward.
