Tonight Brad Marchand once again found himself in the middle of a chaotic brawl. Unlike most physical altercations involving Marchand, he found himself on the losing end of this matchup with a rookie.
Rookie Destroys Marchand In A Chaotic Brawl
Near the end of the first period of the contest between the Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames a brawl broke loose. The source of the brawl was Bruins forward Brad Marchand running into the Calgary Flames goalie. As a result of this Flames rookie Martin Pospisil stepped in and destroyed Marchand with a huge punch.
Pospisil built up some goodwill with his teammates and the fans with this move. Taking on a notable pest in the NHL in one of your first games in the NHL is a tall task. Pospisil stepped up admirably and took care of business.
After the first period, the Flames continue to lead the Bruins 2-0. It will be fun to see if this brawl leads to more chaos later on in the game.
