Marchand Proves He Was the Wrong Choice for Captain After Embarrassing Pre-Season Display
In last night's game between the Bruins and the Flyers, Brad Marchand was seen embarrassingly taking matters too far with a Flyer Defenseman.
Marchand Takes Overhead Swing at Flyers' Defenseman During Pre-Season
In the incident, Marchand can be seen getting rough with Joel Farabee of the Flyers in the corner after the puck is cleared to the blue line. As they are skating back to the front of the net, Farabee takes a shot at Marchand, in an attempt to both clear him out from screening the point shot and also in retaliation to the events in the corner.
Marchand was not a fan of this and took things too far by giving Farabee a hard slash over the back.

Marchand Recently Named Bruins Next Captain After Bergeron Retirement
The longtime Bruin was recently named the Captain of the Club after the retirement of Patrice Bergeron. It's likely that Marchand is feeling a lot more pressure this season to play hard and lead by example. However, this type of play shouldn't be what his teammates model their games after.
Brad Marchand takes to the Garden ice for the first time as Bruins captain.
Or, and in just as likely of a case, this could just be Marchand being Marchand, as he has a history of taking things too far in the past, and tiptoeing the line of clean and dirty play.
