Zegras trade rumours have been heating up for a number of weeks now, and while we've heard teams like the Buffalo Sabres are interested, a recent report has linked them to a shocking team.
On the latest episode of the Spittin Chiclets podcast, it was revealed through a source that three teams have reached out to the Ducks, and it appears that the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of those teams.
A blockbuster incoming?
Beyond that, the famous hockey podcast speculated that a deal between the two sides could involve veteran star William Nylander, and with his contract situation also sitting in a murky position, it could make sense if the right pieces are added to the deal.
At this point, this could be purely conjecture, but if the Ducks become serious about moving Zegras given his disagreements in style with Pat Verbeek, the Leafs could sure up their center position for years to come, so keep an eye on this space.
