What's better than having 32 teams in the NHL? Apparently, 34. According to insider Dave Pagnotta, it looks like we might have two new cities joining the NHL club soon.
Pagnotta recently mentioning that while it's been pretty quiet on the expansion front lately, he's expecting some big moves as early as next season with teams 33 and 34 being Atlanta and Salt Lake City.
Now, before you start planning your game night outfits, there's a little hiccup in Atlanta's plans. They're still putting the finishing touches on their arena.
Of course, all this means we won't be seeing these new teams hit the ice until at least the 2025-26 season, but more likely the 2026-27 season. So, plenty of time to brace yourselves for a plethora of new hockey fans.
