An awkward fall on the ice necessitated a stretcher for Kyle Masters from the Kamloops Blazers at the Memorial Cup.

The Blazers were battling the Peterborough Petes when a hit from Brennan Othmann sent Masters crashing awkwardly into the boards. After remaining motionless for a while, Masters ultimately required a stretcher to leave the ice.

Just before being wheeled away, Othmann approached to tap Masters, signaling his remorse.

Aftermath

After the game, which saw the Blazers triumph over the Petes with a 10-2 score, Kamloops released a statement. They reported that Masters was fully conscious when removed from the ice and had mobility in all of his extremities.

Masters was a fourth-round pick (118th overall) by the Minnesota Wild in 2021.
