RUMOUR: Luke Schenn Interested in Returning to Another Former Team in the Off-Season

The Toronto Maple Leafs are anticipated to implement significant changes to their team following yet another disappointing playoff run.

Uncertainty hovers over the future of veteran defenseman Luke Schenn in Leafs Nation. Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Schenn had been in contract discussions with Kyle Dubas until Dubas' departure. Schenn will now likely be looking for a new home July 1st.

Schenn is now likely to head towards NHL free agency

Schenn's potential move was a topic of discussion on the Donnie & Dhali podcast, which covers the Canucks. When queried about the possibility of a return to the Canucks, Schenn responded with good humor,

Schenn Returning To Vancouver?

I knew that was coming. He admitted that he would love to return to Vancouver, but expressed uncertainty given the Canucks' apparent intention to focus on younger players.

Acquiring Schenn could be a wise move for the Canucks. His successful past collaboration with Canucks' star defenseman Quinn Hughes stands as evidence.

Schenn could help elevate Hughes' game and contribute the toughness for which he's well-known.
