Patrick Roy, an NHL legend, has undeniably left his mark on the sport, winning four Stanley Cups during his illustrious playing career with the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche.

Patrick Roy NHL Return?

However, his success as a player did not translate as seamlessly into his coaching career in the NHL. In fact, he abruptly left his position as head coach of the Avalanche, echoing his departure as a player from the Canadiens.

Since then, Roy has focused on coaching the Quebec Remparts, a team he owns in the CHL. Recently, however, there has been substantial speculation about his potential return to the NHL as a head coach.

According to Sportsnet's Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman, there is significant news in this regard.

Roy to The Blue Jackets

The team that has officially expressed interest in Roy for their head coaching position has been identified - it's the Columbus Blue Jackets.

While Roy might still be a contender for other teams, it's confirmed that the Blue Jackets have seriously considered him for the position.
