The Toronto Maple Leafs get an update on the availability of William Nylander as Toronto returns to Joseph Woll in net.

William Nylander's status has been made official after uncertainty if the Leafs star would be able to return to the lineup ahead of tonight's game against the New York Islanders.
Nylander has missed the last three games for Toronto, exiting the Leafs game last Saturday against the Ottawa Senators following a collision with Senators defenseman Artem Zub.
According to David Alter of 'The Hockey News', Nylander is not on the ice for the Leafs at the team's morning skate, indicating Nylander is unlikely to play tonight against the Islanders.
Leafs head coach Craig Berube didn't have any certainly earlier in the week about Nylander's health and if he'd be able to practice with the team this week, although things remain unclear as to the timeline for Nylander's injury absence.

Joseph Woll makes third consecutive start despite shakiness vs Jets

Joseph Woll will once again getting the start for the Leafs against the New York Islanders, looking for a rebound game after a difficult performance Thursday vs the Winnipeg Jets.
Woll was pulled in favor of Dennis Hildeby after allowing four goals on 17 shots against the last place Jets, with the relief appearance being Hildeby's first Leafs game in 2026.
The Leafs managed to scrape out a win, 6-5, but will be trusting in Woll once again for his third straight start, with Woll looking for a bounceback from the struggles against Winnipeg.
Joseph Woll has a 3-1-0 record against the Islanders in four games, along with a 1.77 GAA and a .940% in his career against the Isles.
