Troy Stecher has shown a lot of passion recently and his latest message for fans at Scotiabank Arena shows that he wants more from the crowd as the team loves it.

When he was picked up off waivers earlier this season, Troy Stecher was seemingly added just to add a body to the Maple Leafs while they dealt with injury concerns, but he quickly endeared himself to his teammates, fans, and his head coach.
Recently though, he's been extra fired up and shown a lot more passion than a lot of the team has. He hyped up the fans after the team's 7-5 win over Ottawa, and it seems when he gets excited, the rest of the Maple Leafs follow suit.
The crowd reaction on Tuesday was something else though, as they went ballistic when Matthew Knies fought Nico Hischier, and that seemed to make everyone play with a bit more edge to their game. It wasn't lost on Stecher that the fan reaction has improved recently; and he wants it even louder.

Toronto's fans need to bring the hype: Troy Stecher

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Stecher explained that he loves the atmosphere when Scotiabank Arena gets pumping, and wants Leafs Nation to bring that same type of energy each and every night:
People don't realize how much that plays a factor for our team. The louder they are, the better. This is my 10th year in the NHL and I always loved coming here and Montreal to play, the two centres of the hockey world.
Stecher seems to have found a nice home in Toronto and his play as of late could translate that into an extension which is something fans are desperately asking Brad Treliving to do.

Troy Stecher could be one of the best waiver pickups in recent history

Stecher, 31, has six points in 20 games so far with the Maple Leafs this season (1 goal, 5 assists) while also adding an impressive plus-10 rating, 20 blocks, 12 hits and only 2 PIM in 20:01 TOI.
He's playing nearly seven minutes more now than he was in Edmonton, and he's certainly earned every minute through his sheer hard work and determination. You never see him give up, and he's been such a locker room leader that has brought everyone together.
It wouldn't be shocking to see Stecher stick around, especially considering how much he loves the city apparently. He would be a great asset to the Maple Leafs and finally give him a long-term home for the first time in awhile.
The fact he was a waiver claim is stunning, and 31 other teams (including Edmonton) are kicking themselves for not bringing him in. If he can be the one to help settle the Maple Leafs down? He deserves a pay raise for that alone.
