The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially hired former Flames assistant coach Marc Savard to join Craig Berube's coaching staff.

The Leafs announced the move just moments ago. Savard will serve as an assistant coach for new bench boss Craig Berube.

Savard had previous been a coach for the Flames, general manager Brad Treliving's former team.

The move seems to have completed the Leafs coaching staff for next season. With Sheldon Keefe gone, the entire staff has seen major changes with Craig Berube surrounding himself with his most trusted associates.

Leafs confirm Marc Savard as assistant coach, completing Craig Berube's staff of associate Lane Lambert, assistant Mike Van Ryn, goaltending coach Curtis Sanford, and video coaches Jordan Bean and Sam Kim.

Savard had a solid career in the NHL although he never won a Stanley Cup. he had 207 career goals and 706 career points in 807 games split between the Bruins, Flames, Rangers, and Thrashers. He has been a coach since 2011.
