Paul Maurice provides an update on Sergei Bobrovsky ahead of Game 7
Paul Maurice, head coach of the Florida Panthers, provided an update on goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky ahead of game 7 after he missed the team practice earlier today.
A concerning development emerged from the Panthers' practice today as Sergei Bobrovsky was nowhere to be found on the ice:
"Oddly, Sergei Bobrovsky is not one of the two goalies warming up before the Panthers' practice, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Anthony Stolarz and Spencer Knight are out there.
Bobrovsky is usually the first one on the ice, well before this, on a practice day." Bobrovsky has been struggling in the past three games of the Finals against the Edmonton Oilers. He allowed 12 goals in three games, seriously hurting his chances of winning the Conn-Smyhte Trophy. However, he remains the Panthers' best option if they want to win the Stanley Cup.
It was unusual for him to miss practice, but according to head coach Paul Maurice, Bobrovsky is fine:
"Paul Maurice updates us on Bobrovsky ahead of game 7:
«Bobrovsky is fine»"
Bobrovsky should be between the pipes tomorrow in the final game of the 2023-24 Stanley Cup Playoffs, in Florida.
Fans hope to see the goalie back at the top of his art to stop the Oilers from completing the reverse-sweep and avoid losing in two back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.
