The Toronto Maple Leafs made some line changes on Wednesday morning during practice in order to get themselves back on track against New York.
The Maple Leafs have made their changes against the New York Islanders on Wednesday in their second game of a back-to-back.
Maple Leafs make two changes ahead of Islanders clash
While it's not much, the team did add Bo Groulx in the mix; swapping him in for Zack MacEwen, meanwhile Anthony Stolarz is going to get the start.
Other than that, no other major changes were made to the lineup:
-
Gavin McKenna will find himself on the second line again after being demoted in the first game of the season, and it will also be a chance for Darren Raddysh to redeem himself after a self-admitted rough start to his Maple Leafs career.
The addition of Groulx was meant to add a bit more offensive punch to the bottom-six after a pretty dismal showing in game one. The bottom-six only combined for one shot all night, and the stars can't be relied on to carry the load; especially not for the entire year.
Anthony Stolarz gets his chance at redemption too
Another big change was Stolarz in net for the Maple Leafs as he gets a chance to prove that he is not only healthy but able to be the backup that Toronto needs to succeed.
If he can stand strong against the Islanders and stop the dominant firepower of Bo Horvat and Matthew Schaefer - not to mention former Maple Leaf Matias Maccelli - then the team should have no issues getting things done.
They will need to start getting more offence from people not named William Nylander, but as this is game two of 84, there's a lot of time left.
For those fans interested in watching the game, it will be on Amazon Prime Video, and you will need a Prime subscription in order to view it.
More details to come.
