Maple Leafs Confirm When We Will See Scott Laughton and Brandon Carlo in the Lineup
The Maple Leafs have a pair of new players in Scott Laughton and Brandon Carlo, and coach Craig Berube has confirmed when they'll be making their debuts.
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has made a pair of moves to his club that he feels will help them get over the hump and not only advance past the 1st round of the postseason, but go on an extended run.
They've
acquired forward Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers as
well as defenseman Brandon Carlo from the divisional foe Boston Bruins, giving them a pair of experienced players that will immediately slot into the lineup.
The Maple Leafs next hit the ice in the Rocky Mountains against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena, and according to head coach Craig Berube, both Laughton and Carlo will be available and make their Toronto debuts.
Per analyst Mark Masters:
Brad Treliving is expecting both Scott Laughton & Brandon Carlo to arrive in Denver tonight & make their Leafs debuts on Saturday against the Avalanche
Laughton has 27 points (11G, 16A) in 60 games this year with the Flyers, while
Carlo has 9 points (1G, 8A) in 63 games played this year with the Bruins.
The Acquisition of Scott Laughton and Brandon Carlo One Of Several from GM Brad Treliving
Leafs GM Brad Treliving made a deal with his Toronto predecessor Kyle Dubas, sending both
Conor Timmins and
Connor Dewar to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
It was a necessary one in order to make cap space for Laughton and Carlo, and the team even lucked out with 50% and 15% salary retention respectively.
The Maple Leafs lineup on Saturday night could look a lot different and would most likely see Laughton slide in between
Max Domi and
Bobby McMann and Brandon Carlo will pair with
Morgan Rielly.
Either way, it's a new look for the Leafs, and one that hopefully pushes them over the top.
