Although he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame this year, former Maple Leaf Alexander Mogilny won't be appearing, as fans give their take on the situation on social media.

Enjoying a career spanning 16 season, former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alexander Mogilny earned a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame after years of being left out, as his accolades were finally recognized amongst his peers.
1,032 points in 990 career games, Mogliny took the league by storm with a 76-goal season and announced his arrival with blistering speed, a deadly shot and unparalleled accuracy.

Alexander Mogilny Will Deliver His Hall of Fame Speech Remotely

However, for those who were wishing to see the former Maple Leaf in person during the November Induction Ceremony are going to be sorely disappointed as it was announced on Friday afternoon that Mogilny won't be appearing:
BREAKING: Alexander Mogilny has confirmed that he is not able to attend the 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction in person. He will be sharing his acceptance during a remote speech that will be aired during the Induction Celebration on Monday, Nov. 10th.
Instead, Mogilny will give a remote speech from his native Russia, in a bit of a change from the usual affairs.
Others expected to attend the ceremony include former Maple Leaf Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Duncan Keith, and Jennifer Botterill amongst others; though much like Mogilny this could change at any point.

Fans React to Mogilny's Decision and What It Might Mean

But those fans caused a bunch of speculation and thought that several reasons were to blame for Mogilny's absence, with most of the sentiment towards his distaste for flying:
However the replies also teetered on conspiratorial, with many fans having their own explanations for Mogilny deciding to skip out on the festivities.
One fan simply didn't feel that it was necessary to have Mogilny there at all, and offered a simple solution to put this to bed:
Whatever the opinions of the fans are, there is no denying that the talent Mogilny brought excited fans for years, and though he only spent three seasons in Toronto, he was excellent.
In 176 games he posted 166 points (65 goals, 101 assists) and was a key part in forming a 1-2 punch with franchise icon Mats Sundin; he last played during the 2005-06 season for the New Jersey Devils.
While Mogilny won't be appearing this November, there will be no shortage of star power showing up at the three-day event, with the induction ceremony scheduled for November 10th emanating from the Hall of Fame itself.
