Sheldon Keefe recently made a major announcement regarding William Nylander and his plans for the upcoming season.

Nylander to Play Down the Middle of the Ice This Year

Nylander has been the talk of the offseason, with his contract situation, however, it looks like the conversation is shifting to how he will be used in the Leafs' top 6. In an interview earlier today, Sheldon Keefe announced that they would be trying Nylander out at center during camp and potentially during the season.

Not the First Time Nylander has Been Tried At Center

This isn't the first time that Nylander has been tried out in the center position for the Leafs, as the Swede started last year out as the 2C as well. Nylander is an excellent skater and puck mover, however, his defensive abilities lack which makes it difficult for him to make the jump to center ice.

In his contract year, he has a huge opportunity to show the Leafs and teams around the league that he is an all-around player deserving of a massive payday.
