Matthew Knies played last year for Team USA at the WJC and has now dissed his Canadian rival, Fraser Minten.
Matthew Knies Disses Fraser Minten
Earlier this week, Fraser Minten was named the captain of Team Canada's WJC roster.
He is looking to make a run for the Gold Medal and will look to three-peat.
When Matthew Knies was asked if he would be cheering for Team Canada because of his teammates Minten and Easton Cowan, Knies claimed he would do no such thing.
Matthew Knies laughed and said there's "no chance" he'll be cheering for Team Canada at the World Juniors, even with Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan on the team.
"I'll cheer for them, but I can't cheer for Team Canada," he joked.
Knies, an American-born forward, will be cheering for the U.S. and will hope that his former teammates can break Canada's run of WJC titles.
Currently, both teams are undefeated and are favorites to make a run for the title.
