Some terrible news emerged in the last few minutes.
Brodie's Father Passes Away
Jay Brodie passed away from cancer earlier this week.
As reported by the Toronto Sun:
"Jay Brodie, the father of Toronto Maple Leafs blue-liner TJ Brodie and a member of his Southwestern Ontario community's sports hall of fame, is being remembered for his love of family, farming, and sports after dying of cancer on Monday.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, daughters Justine and Laura, son TJ, and seven grandchildren."
Hall of Famer
Brodie Sr. was also a hockey player but never made it to the NHL. He played in Dresden, a town in Ontario, for the Chatham Thames Valley Brick, a major midget AA team, where he won the championship in 1977-78.
He was inducted into the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame in 2018, and into the local sports hall of fame in April.
He also went to the 1976-77 OMHA final as well.
We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family.
«His grandkids loved spending time with him, getting a push on the swings, soaking in the hot tub, singing country music, getting tractor rides or watching hockey games«
