The Toronto Maple Leafs current roster has many players who have represented their country at the World Junior Championships.
Stars like Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner have showcased themselves to the world at this event in the past. For any young hockey player, it is a great honor to be selected.
Leafs Prospect One Step Closer to Representing Canada
Second-round pick Fraser Minten is coming off of a strong year with the Kamloops Blazers in which he scored 67 points in 57 games. He was now invited to Team Canada's World Junior Championship Meetings which serve as an initial pool of players to be selected from. Minten was one of 28 forwards invited.
Minten was a recent standout at the recent Maple Leafs development camp.
Minten will likely not make the Leafs this season but should see some pre-season action with the Leafs. With a strong start to his season, Minten could see himself selected to Team Canada and under the bright lights of the World Junior Championship to ring in the new year.
