Maple Leafs Players Send Love To Rodion Amirov After Passing

Toronto Maple Leafs players, including Captain John Tavares took to social media to provide his condolence following the passing of Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov.

Leafs captain shares post commemorating Amirov



Amirov, who passed away earlier today at the age of 21 after a lengthy battle with Brain Cancer, was memorialized by members of the Leafs, who expressed his respect at the talented young prospect.




Amirov was the Leafs 1st Round selection in 2020, 15th Overall. Amirov was diagnosed with a Brain tumor in 2021 while playing for Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the KHL.

Other leafs members also shared their condolences



Other members of the Hockey community, including the Leafs, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to send their condolences to Amirov's family and close friends, including fellow Leafs prospect Nick Robertson.


Leafs star Mitch Marner also shared a tribute to Amirov in his Instagram story, saying the prospect will "never be forgotten".

Other players who shared a remembrance include fellow Leafs Matthew Knies, Max Domi, Timothy Liljegren & Connor Timmins, who all shared the Leafs Instagram post on their stories. Others who also shared the post are former Leafs Michael Bunting and Justin Holl.

Leafs President Brendan Shanahan also released a statement on X, via the Toronto Maple Leafs, sending his condolences on behalf of the team.
