Maple Leafs Announce Deep Prospect Tournament Roster Which Includes A Surprising Name

The Toronto Maple Leafs just released their prospect tournament roster, and there is one very big name on the roster.
Knies to Play in Prospect tournament
This roster is full of all the best prospects the Leafs have to offer, that are all trying to fight for a spot on the professional teams.
Names like Fraser Minten, Roni Hirvonen and Topi Niemela were names everyone expected to be on this roster, however the one player that has caught everyone off guard is, Matthew Knies.
The Leafs highly touted prospect has decided to go and play in this tournament despite being an almost lock into the Leafs opening night roster.
Knies impressed during the playoffs replacing Micheal Bunting when he got suspended against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Knies is projected to be getting the luxury of playing on the same line as Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.
In 7 playoff games Knies tallied his first career NHL goal and three more assists, while playing very strong along side Matthews and Marner.
Leafs Prospect Tournament
The young gun Leafs will be playing from September 14th to the 17th in Traverse City.
It is a four team tournament, with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and Detroit Red Wings being the other teams in this tournament.
The Leafs schedule will look like this:
Thursday, September 14th @ 3:30pm against Columbus
Friday, September 15th @ 6:30pm against Dallas
Sunday, September 17th @ 2:00pm against Detroit
Easton Cowan will also be on the roster who was selected 28th overall from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
