Liljegren Victim of a Drity Play by Marchand

One of Brad Treliving's biggest objective when he came into office was to make the Maple Leafs a tougher team.

To do it, he signed Ryan Reaves, Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi. Fans believe that would've been enough, but obviously, it isn't.

Last night, Brad Marchand made a dirty play on Timothy Liljegren, who left the game, visibly injured.

After no penalty was called on the play, nothing happened. Reaves said a few words from the bench, but that's it.

The other "tough guy", Tyler Bertuzzi, simply thought it was funny.

Bertuzzi's Reaction to Injury Causes a Stir

The Leafs were hoping that with the newest additions, if one of their players were to be on the receiving end of a dirty play, there would be retribution. But that's not what happened.

Bertuzzi, former Bruins, simply laughed and nodded his head.

"Lol at Bertuzzi's reaction compared to everyone else on the Leafs while they have a back and forth with Marchand out there 😂 #NHLBruins"

Either Marchand's slewfooting is accidental or not, players should've stood up for their injured teammate.

That's not how a team wins playoff rounds.

"There's something hard to process of some Leaf fans saying the team has to get tougher after Marchand's hit tonight.

Was that not why you signed Reaves and added Domi/Bertuzzi?

Or can we just admit that Reaves can't do the one thing he was signed for"

"Brad Marchand when asked why Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe was barking at him from the bench during the game: «Oh, he was just saying hi'"

As seen on Blade of Steel - Fans are furious about Bertuzzi's embarrassing reaction to teammates injury
