Former Maple Leaf Has Incredible First Game With New Team
The Toronto Maple Leafs made a controversial move when they traded Rasmus Sandin to the Washington Capitals. Only one game in, it's looking like the Capitals won the deal.
Sandin Starts Off Hot
Sandin never got much accomplished offensively in Toronto. Sheltered to bottom-pairing minutes for the majority of his time there, and forced to take over the defensive responsibilities on an offense-driven d-corps, Sandin's role was very clear cut.
Now on a Washington team set to miss the playoffs, Sandin has the chance to showcase himself. In his Capitals debut, he scored three points.
In just about 22 minutes of ice time, Sandin had 3 assists, 3 hits, a block and was +1. It's safe to say that Washington has something special here.
