The news comes as the Toronto Maple Leafs remain significantly shorthanded on the blueline, and have been actively pulling up defensemen from the Marlies to fill their roster.
Gaunce is well known for his physicality, racking up 884 penalty minutes over 13 seasons in the AHL. He has yet to play a game this season and will hope to crack the Marlies' roster.
