Yesterday the Florida Panthers controlled Game 3 against the New York Rangers but unfortunately could not pull out a win this has now led to major frustration in the group.
The Florida Panthers outshout the New York Rangers yesterday 37 to 23 and had much more offensive zone time. After a good performance from New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin and a clutch goal in OT from Alexander Wenneberg the Florida Panthers found themselves with another loss.
The goal would be scored and the New York Rangers would immediately celebrate. However, the Florida Panthers decided to challenge the goal believing there was something wrong on the play.
Whatever Panthers are upset about here, there's an automatic league review.
«I think any time you lose a close one like that, it's obviously frustrating,» said Panthers forward Sam Reinhart, who scored both power-play goals. «You can say we dominated, but then you look at the mistakes that led to their goals. So, there's areas for improvement, for sure.»
Then head coach Paul Maurice spoke about the frustrations of the game. He suggested that while the loss stings his team needs to put it behind them and focus on the next opportunity.
«Sometimes you want to keep the growl,» Maurice said. «A lot of times in the playoffs it's about making sure that you keep that energy full and cut off your losses. That you let it go. Then there's times you want to keep it and eat and let it burn for a while and find a different kind of energy source.»
Even though they lost the positive thing for the Florida Panthers is that they did control the puck so much and created a lot of chances. If they continue to do this they are statistically more likely to score in the upcoming games.
Game 4 is set for Tuesday where the Florida Panthers will be able to get their revenge on the New York Rangers and tie the Eastern Conference Finals back up.
