According to a new report, six NHL teams have shown interest in the 2023 Vezina Trophy winner ang goaltender of the Boston Bruins Linus Ullmark.
Following a tough elimination in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of the Florida Panthers, the Bruins are starting to look for at their possibilities to bolster their line up for the next season. They desperately need to add depth to their offensive unit, and the key to get it might be their biggest trade token: Linus Ullmark.
Ullmark was the Bruins' second choice during the playoffs, leaving Jeremy Swayman playing most of the games.
With his contract coming to an end after the next season, now is a great time to trade him.
The Bruins' general manager Don Sweeney openly discussed that possibility:
"We're going to explore opportunities. My phone's going to ring. I'm going to make calls. That's just what the job requires and at times, unfortunately, things start to leak out and that's your job. You guys do a hell of a job of figuring those things out, piecing them together."
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, six NHL teams have already shown interest to the Bruins: the Kings, Devils, Senators, Hurricanes, Oilers and Red Wings:
"The Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes are among the teams that expressed interest in Ullmark during the season – we know the Kings and Sens pitched offers before the trade deadline – and I've got to think all four clubs will reach out this summer, if they haven't already. The Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings could reach out next month, too."
This will surely be an interesting topic to follow over the coming months. Stay tuned for further developments.
