Nick Robertson was selected in the 2nd round by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2019 NHL Draft. Since the draft there has been a lot of hope for his future with the team. However, several injuries later and an unclear spot for him to fill in the NHL has clouded that once-promising future. This season in 56 NHL games he had 27 points.
He is a player who has shown he is too good for the AHL at this point but likely cannot crack the top six of a very talented Maple Leafs squad. Add in the fact that with Brad Treliving hiring Craig Berube anyone associated with Nick Robertson from the time he was drafted is now gone and his future with the Leafs looks bleak.
