Major Trade Proposal Involving Brad Marchand Causing a Stir
The Boston Bruins lost in the first round against the Florida Panthers. This loss is even sadder, knowing that Don Sweeney went all-in for this year. They paid a high price for Tyler Bertuzzi, Dmitry Orlov, and Garnet Hathaway, and now they don't have many picks for the next drafts.
But it's not all; they will have to deal with a lot of UFAs this summer, and Sweeney will need a miracle if he wants to keep a few of them.
An interesting idea was raised involving Brad Marchand that could save the Bruins.
Marchand Traded for the Greater Good of the Bruins?
Boston will have a lot of good players next season. Pastrnak, McAvoy, Zacha, Lindholm, Ullmark, and many more will be there. This is a solid core for a rebuild.
The Bruins aren't in a position to rebuild via the draft, so they might consider trading valuable players for others.
If Marchand is the one to take the fall, the Bruins could get a great return that could helm the team for a long time, or some cap space to sign those UFAs.
The Rat isn't the player he used to be, but he still can help a team to win. Clearly, there would be some demand for him if he were on the trade block.
