The Anaheim Ducks had a matinee game against the Florida Panthers, in Florida, and it was one heck of a game, to say the least. Alex Killorn took the game in OT, winning it for the Anaheim Ducks, and leaving the Florida Panthers with just a single point.
The game went the distance where both teams managed to score 4 goals a piece, but when it went to overtime the game had shifted in Anaheim's favor. Matthew Tkachuk was slow to get back to the defensive zone, leaving Killorn to be the open man and take a snapshot on the corner of the goaltender Anthony Stolarz.
Killorn is a decorated forward who knows how to advance the puck and may take his shots on the net at times. His hockey IQ is top-notch and he is a 2-time Stanley Cup Champion. His importance to a team is vital because of the leadership he brings and the playoff experience he possesses on his resume.
Alex Killorn signed a 4-year deal with the Ducks during the 2023 off-season free agency and is playing well to his capabilities, starting strong at the beginning of the season. However, the team is in decline and needs to address the young forwards, plus prospects on the team to play accordingly in the NHL. Killorn can lead this team with his broad knowledge and may give the youngsters the help to play in the league.
