Canada will get further clarity on the status of Sidney Crosby after leaving against Czechia.

Sidney Crosby left in the second period of Canada's men's Ice Hockey quarterfinals match at the 2026 Olympics after a hit from Czech defenseman Radko Gudas.

Crosby, who left with apparent irritation in his leg, did not return to the game in Canada's 4-3 win, with Canadian head coach Jon Cooper saying after the game that there was no update at the time on Crosby's status.

According to Pietre LeBrun, additional information on Crosby's status will be known tomorrow. Crosby went to get imaging after leaving the match, with Canada knowing more tomorrow if Crosby will play in the semifinals.

Crosby, 38, has two goals, four assists, & six points in four games for team Canada at the 2026 Olympics in his third games wearing the home colours.

Play resumes for Canada on Friday, playing in the semifinals against Finland, with the winner playing for gold the winner of Slovakia and the United States.

Canada could be without Sidney Crosby for semifinals vs Finland

The Canadians could be without their captain in Sidney Crosby after leaving against Czechia, although if he will play on Friday may not be confirmed even with the injury information provided tomorrow.

In the case that Crosby is unavailable, it would likely be extra forward Sam Bennett inserting into the lineup vs Finland after sitting out vs the Czechs.

Canada's top-six looks to remain unchanged with Crosby potentially out, with Bo Harvat looking like most probable option on the third line at center. Sam Reinhart and Seth Jarvis may be options as well, with Sam Bennett as a dark horse candidate.

Head Coach Jon Cooper said optimistically that he felt it wasn't the last Olympics game for Crosby, although if that's in the semifinals or the medal round remains to be seen.
