RUMOR: Calgary Flames Noah Hanifin Traded To The Toronto Maple Leafs? Insider Reveals A Deal Could Be In Place Involving The Leafs And The Flames

Today hockey insider Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com suggested that the Noah Hanifin sweepstakes have been narrowed down. The Toronto Maple Leafs and two other teams in the East remain in the race.

This is the first we have heard that the Maple Leafs are a potential finalist for Noah Hanifin. Now that the Maple Leafs are known to be serious what could a trade package look like?

The Maple Leafs were originally rumored to be in on Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev. Now with Zadorov off to Vancouver, it seems the team has pivoted to Hanifin. The Zadorov deal could provide useful still when predicting a trade return needed to land Hanifin.

Zadorov was sent to Vancouver for a 3rd and a 5th-round pick in upcoming drafts.

With Hanifin being two years younger and possessing more offensive upside the price will likely be higher. With the Maple Leafs' lack of high-end picks in upcoming drafts a top prospect or two will likely need to be sacrificed to bring in Hanifin.
